На машине RAM 512MB собираю ядро при загрузке
пишет panic: pmap_mapdev: Couldn't alloc kernel virual memory
Почему?
в /sys/i386/conf

MAXMEM specifies the amount of RAM on the machine; if this is not
# specified, FreeBSD will first read the amount of memory from the CMOS
# RAM, so the amount of memory will initially be limited to 64MB or 16MB
# depending on the BIOS.  If the BIOS reports 64MB, a memory probe will
# then attempt to detect the installed amount of RAM.  If this probe
# fails to detect >64MB RAM you will have to use the MAXMEM option.

в ядре. варианты:

- отключить acpi
- поднять систему с 5.1 до 5.2.1

lavr ты можешь это мне попдробнее объяснить чтобы я понял что делаю?

Поднимать систему до 5.2.1 чревато: рабочий сервер
отключил в bios acpi все заработало

объяснить не мог, отпуск.
5.1 очень сырая и кривоватая система, разумеется проблемы ядра.

сам бог велел поднять 5.1 до 5.2.1, тем более на рабочем сервере, так
как 5.2.1 гораздо более вылизанная система, мне очень понравилась, жду
выхода 5.3-Beta/RC

Боюсь поднимать
работает в качестве шлюза в инет по двум каналам PBR
Postfix, Drweb, Mysql, Apache, DNS, ipfw, natd, squid,

каковы шансы что после сборки все это будет нормально работать?
может я ошибаюсь, но мне кажется что шансов мало
Как вы думаете?
