Привет,

Возникла проблема с установкой
жесткого дииска 400Gb Barracuda 7200.9 ST3400633AS
SATA-II 16Mb NCQ на контроллер Promise SATA300 TX2plus на
FreeBSD 6.1.
запустил sysinstall -> index -> Partiotion, а в ответ
он мне выдал это:

Documentation submenu or use the (G)eometry command to change it now.

For IDE, it's what you were told in the BIOS setup. For SCSI, it's the
translation mode your controller is setup. For SCSI, it's the
translation mode your controller is using. Do NOT use a ``physical
geometry''.

До этого, аналогичным образом
добавлял жесткие диски на 20, 40 Gb,
предупреждений никаких не выдавал.
Что ему в геометрии не понравилось и
какую нужно указать?

после того как выдал A geometry of 775221/16/63 for ad4 is incorrect:
вы должны увидеть геометрию которую FreeBSD сам пересчитал для вас: XXX/255 heads/63 sectors - принимаете ее "G" = set Drive Geometry и живете счастливо, или можете
сами пересчитать более точно и выставить через "G" - как рассчитывать найдете по
ссылкам выше
